Kinetic control

Kinetic Control is an exercise-based method designed to improve movement control. A trained physiotherapist assesses both the function of individual muscles and how you use your body in positions and movements that cause pain. Your therapist guides and instructs you in exercises that you can perform yourself to relieve symptoms at an early stage and help prevent future episodes of pain. This approach gives your body time to recover and enables a more effective training progression in the future.

Kinetic Control was developed by physiotherapists Sarah Mottram and Mark Comerford and has become an internationally recognized method for physiotherapists. The goal of Kinetic Control is to identify the individual causes of pain and movement dysfunction through precise assessment. Based on findings and tests, a personalized rehabilitation program can be designed.

The core idea is that uncontrolled or excessive movement causes pain. Through interviews and testing, the painful movement area and the direction in which symptoms occur are identified. The exercises aim to restore normal movement control to reduce pain, correct dysfunction, and improve functional ability. The method is grounded in an understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and physiology, and every intervention or exercise in rehabilitation has a clear purpose and goal.
